Another opportunity to see a wonderful display of colorful tulips is less than an hour south of Dallas in Waxahachie. In March, this spring festival brings together thousands of visitors to gaze upon the wondrous beauty of tulips imported from Holland. In addition to meandering through the tulip field and enjoying a day of fun, Tulipalooza supports local charities by donating 50% of ticket sales.

Changing the winter season to spring brings a colorful array of beautiful blooms. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden kicks off the spring season with Dallas Blooms, the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest. This annual event showcases thousands of spring flowers throughout the garden. This is a great experience for the whole family.

Each year, the Forth Worth Botanic Garden hosts a wonderful experience to see a dazzling array of butterflies. This is one of the most exciting things to do in the spring as the conservatory showcases the largest exhibit of butterflies in North Central Texas. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is a fantastic place to visit in the spring as the garden transforms into blossoming trees in addition to this unique event.

Bluebonnets, the official state flower of Texas, signals the official start of spring. These gorgeous flowers can be seen throughout Texas along highways, roads, and trails. Ennis displays over 40 miles of spectacular bluebonnets and wildflowers.
Trail maps are available at the Ennis Welcome Center or downloaded online. Take the scenic route through the mesmerizing bluebonnet trails for an incredible display of these spring blooms. There is no cost to drive the trails.
The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival provides arts and crafts, activities, live music, food, and much fun to celebrate the spring season. Daily admission is $5 per person and free for children under 12 years of age. Activities and food are an additional cost.
